In the first four weeks of the internship, we will focus on strength and conditioning day-to-day operations, diagnostics, and MMA periodization (strength, power, and energy system development). Interns will progress from shadowing during the first week to taking athletes through a workout, prescribed by S&C staff in the fourth week.
2: INTER-DEPARTMENT COMMUNICATION
The next four weeks will be about refining communication skills. How to effectively communicate with MMA athletes and with a high-performance team. Interns will begin shadowing other departments to assist in their ability to communicate across all departments, along with perfecting their communication and cueing on the S&C floor.
3: PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
During this stage of the internship the interns will begin to work on their coaching and training philosophy.
