OUR CURRICULUM

 

1: GOAL SETTING AND MAINTAINING FOCUS

Coaches will get an in depth introduction to the many hats a strength and conditioning/sports performance coach must wear in their day-to-day life as well as learn about the importance of having an intended career direction in order to succeed in the field.

2: TRAINING ADAPTATION AND OVERLOAD

Coaches will learn about the general adaptation syndrome and how it underpins all of our programming here at the University of Wyoming.

3: VELOCITY-BASED TRAINING

Coaches will learn about using VBT for auto-regulation and how we use it to track performance with our program.

 

4: SPEED TRAINING

Coaches will learn the basics of speed development for sports including the importance of both acceleration training and max velocity training as well as the main differences between them.

5: OTHER TOPICS INCLUDE

  • Olympic Lifting Coaching and Technique

  • Long Term Athletic Development

  • Basic Programming Tools and Guidelines

  • Joint-by-Joint Approach
